The Keith Hills Amateur Championship is an individual stroke play tournament played in May of each year at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, NC. The tournament started in 1995 and has consistently attracted the top amateurs in the Carolinas and Virginia including winners of 6 different NC and Carolinas Mid-Amateurs, former NC Amateur Champions, and former winners of the North & South Amateur Championship. Keith Hills is currently rated as a 4-Star Facility by Golf Digest's Places-to-Play. The tournament is a points tournament for the Carolinas Player Rankings as provided by the Carolinas Golf Association with a multiplier of two (2).
The Keith Hills Senior Amateur Championship started in 2003 and is played along with The Keith Hills Senior Amateur is a 36 hole stroke play tournament and a points tournament for the Carolinas ranking as provided by the Carolina Golf Association.
The Courses
The Orange Course & The Black Course are designed by Ellis Maples with these courses opened the fall of 1974. Both courses are considered among the best in the area and a stern test during the Keith Hills Amateur.
Requirements to Enter
The tournament is open to all male amateurs with a handicap index of 4.0 or below who are in good standing with the host club. Handicaps must be verified. Handicap maximum is waived for any players who are otherwise exempt or in the top 150 of the Carolinas Golf Association's Player Rankings. Exempt players include: previous champions of the Keith Hills Amateur who have retained amateur status, top 25 and ties from the 2007 North Carolina Mid-Amateur, top 25 and ties from the 2007 North Carolina Amateur, 32 match play qualifiers from the Carolinas Amateur, the top 50 from the 2007 Keith Hills Amateur, and the Keith Hills Club Champion. Keith Hills Country Club reserves the right to accept or reject any player for any reason. Handicap requirements for the Senior Division is a 7.0.
